Dacia and Renault Cluster Calibration Using RR030

Dacia and Renault Cluster Calibration Using RR030

It has been an exciting last few months for anyone working on cars from the Renault family. We saw many ups and downs and we were all looking for options when working on these cars. As you know we have always been the premier tool when it comes to all new solutions in the field of Renault and Dacia. Ever since the creation of the initial software, somewhere in 2009 when two of our developers had a bit of time to spare during an exhibition in Poland. They stood there and the show was going slow – not too many visitors and they just happened to have a set of Renault modules so instead of smoking cigarettes they decided to develop the software for Renault in just three days. A lot of time has passed since then and a lot of development of this software has taken place. Our developers turned the Abrites Diagnostics for Renault and Dacia into a complete solution developed in-house, which can only be described as a benchmark for all other tools to measure themselves by.

The latest development available to purchase is now out, it is called the RR030, and it takes care of cluster calibration for Renault and Dacia vehicles equipped with the Visteon S6J3 instrument cluster panels with mechanical pointers and the ATE ABS modules installed in vehicles produced after 2022.

Supported and tested cars include the following models: Dacia Jogger, Sandero III, Logan III, Renault Trafic III ph2, Kangoo III, Express II. I am sure there will be some other cars we still have not been able to test but you guys know them even better than us.
You are going to need your AVDI with a valid AMS subscription, an ABPROG programmer, the CB021 cable and the ZN093 adapter in order to complete the job. Of course, the RR030 license is also needed.
RR030 also includes the older Magneti Marelli/ Calsonic Kansai and Visteon instrument clusters which carry over from the old RR029 license. As you know the ABS for those is also supported

Our video on the procedure is on its way to the AVDI Fan YouTube channel, but here is what you need to know:

  • Read and calibrate the ABS and Dashboard by OBD.
  • Two files are saved on your computer in the Abrites diagnostics for Renault/ Dacia Online log file folder (flash and config).
  • Take the cluster out of the car and connect it on bench as per the procedure from the software.
  • Then write the flash file using the ABPROG and ZN093.
  • Return the dashboard to the vehicle and enjoy the correct mileage.
  • If the configuration is specific, i.e. if the car is equipped with factory LPG and such you will need to write the configuration back to the dashboard. This will ensure proper operation of all the systems within the vehicle.

By following this procedure, you will be able to properly calibrate any of the supported dashboards in Renault and Dacia vehicles.
That pretty much covers the procedure. There is nothing too special, at least from your perspective apart from the fact that the instructions given by the software need to be followed. As you can see – we cannot stop moving forward and releasing new and exciting tools for you. The Abrites diagnostics for Renault/Dacia Online is just the right tool, it is simple and effective!

Until next week, try to have fun at work,
Alek
