Out of the Office on September 8 for Unification Day, 2025

This Saturday, September 6, Bulgaria celebrates Unification Day, a national holiday marking the historic unification of Bulgarian territories after liberation from the Ottoman Empire. As the holiday falls on a weekend, our head office in Sofia will be closed on Monday, September 8, in observance of the bank holiday. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 9.
The motto of the Unification, “Unity is Power”, is inscribed on Bulgaria’s coat of arms and above the entrance of the National Assembly. It underscores the importance of national unity, a value deeply cherished by Bulgarians.
You may also notice the lion in the coat of arms — Bulgaria’s national symbol. It represents bravery, honor, and strength, qualities that resonate strongly with the Bulgarian people.
This year’s Unification Day is especially significant, as it marks the 140th anniversary of the event — a proud moment in the country’s history and identity.
