TN017 ACHIEVE THE ULTIMATE TOYOTA SYNCHRONIZATION RESET AND ADAPTATION

TN017- ACHIEVE THE ULTIMATE TOYOTA SYNCHRONIZATION, RESET, AND ADAPTATION

Right, Guillermo Del Toro. In 2013 the Jalisco born director created a film so crazy that cannot be forgotten. Pacific Rim. A film which introduced an interesting, albeit far-fetched concept of “DRIFT”. This, according to Tel Toro’s colorful homage to Gundam Manga is a state in which the pilots, of which there must be two (humans) connect their brains to a skyscraper sized robot, called a Jaeger, to fight huge alien monsters coming from a portal under the ocean. It has Ron Pearlman and the criminally underrated Idris Elba as the ridiculously named Stacker Pentecost, delivering an Independence Day level “Cancelling the Apocalypse” speech.

Why am I talking to you about an 11-year-old monster movie? Well Toyota’s new models really look a lot like baby Gundam robots. Another connection is the synchronization between us as diagnosticians and modern Toyotas is very reminiscent of the brain drift as described in Pacific Rim. The way modern Toyotas’ immobilizer system works contains the following essential modules (applicable for smart key cars):

  • Engine Control Module

  • Smart Access System

  • Hybrid Module (partially integrated or under the command of the Engine Control Module)

  • Smart key

  • ESL

  • ID Code Box, also known as an ID BOX. Which is really important.

What is an ID code box? – The ID code box is the module which is responsible for the synchronization of all the rest of the immobilizer modules within the vehicle, it allows them all to work as a system. This means that every time you need to replace any of the modules in the immobilizer system you need to adapt the whole system to work in unison.
Why is ID BOX reset so important? Due to its location (deep in the car’s dashboard) the ID code box is very hard to get to physically and requires at least a day of careful dismantling of a customer’s car. Then it requires another day of careful putting everything back together and, let’s face it, minimal invasion is important from:

1. The customer’s perspective

They will get scared when they see their car with no interior in it, and when it is a relatively new car -it will be very off putting for them

2. Workshop perspective

You will have at least one bay in your workshop taken over for at least two days.

3. Business perspective

This takes time and money away from your business.

So, if we had a solution which allows us to reset the ID BOX quickly and effectively in a few minutes this will draw more customers to you – you will provide a much better service than the Toyota official dealership, because they will take it apart and replace all the modules, whereas you will not take days, you will not take the car apart and you will save your customer’s time and money. As our customer this will be better for you because we save you time and effort. Because all the work involved ID BOX reset is extremely expensive and if we can do it in a few minutes with minimal invasion we have the perfect solution. The ID CODE BOX reset function works together with the CB012 and CB031 cable sets because you need to be able to connect to the cables behind the vehicle’s glove compartment.
Using TN017 you can exchange an engine control unit for example – this procedure takes about 40 minutes, and it is the longest one in the service, so you have a maximum of 1 hour work time total including all the connections. This basically means that the TN017 is 16 times more valuable than anything else currently on the market. And this is for the longest possible procedure – ECU exchange.
With TN017 you can replace a Smart system – yes, a smart system replacement also takes minutes to complete using TN017. We also allow you to program keys with the replacement smart system when all the keys from it are lost. You can use a second-hand smart system making it better for the customer and if you need to program keys to it but you will also need to have PROTAG, one of our key programming licenses and an emulator.
We also provide full keys in the shape of the TA71 if you need to program keys to the BA type of smart system. Once again, you will require a key learning license.

Another unique feature of the TN017 license is that it does not matter if you have the ESL present in the car or not. This makes working on a bench much easier, meaning that you can essentially outsource your services to other workshops once you have a simple wiring rig, so you can take care of a whole region all by yourself!

The amazing solution that the “drift compatible” TN017 provides is a great opportunity for all diagnostic experts to expand their coverage into Toyota vehicles because it makes it so much easier. I truly believe that now you can benefit from TN017 to fight the Kaiju 😊

Until next time, try to have fun at work,
Alek
