New in DiagNodes: Mercedes-Benz Dashboard Configurator
DiagNodes, the browser-based diagnostic and coding platform by ABRITES, now includes the Mercedes-Benz Dashboard Configurator. Customise the instrument cluster on supported Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including the RPM red zone, start-up animation, menus and display layouts, and see how the cluster will look before you code the change. As with other DiagNodes functions, you pay in tokens only for what you use, with no subscription.
What Does the Mercedes-Benz Dashboard Configurator Do?
The configurator follows the workflow DiagNodes users already know: log in, connect to the vehicle, choose a function and pay the token cost. Instead of working through module-level coding by hand, you select an option and DiagNodes applies the change to the instrument cluster.
What sets it apart is the live preview. When you switch an option, the configurator shows what will appear on the cluster, so you see the result before you decide to code it into the car.
The interface is simple enough for enthusiasts as well as professionals. Each option is matched to the specific cluster variant, so the configurator only offers the changes your cluster supports.
Available options depend on the model, model year, cluster variant, software version and vehicle configuration. If a cluster variant is not supported yet, DiagNodes shows this before any change is made.
What Can You Customise?
Each instrument cluster supports its own set of options. Depending on your cluster, you can change settings such as:
- RPM red zone. Move the red zone on the rev counter, for example to 6,000, 6,250, 6,500 or 7,000 rpm.
- Start-up animation. Turn on the welcome animation that plays on the cluster when you get into the car.
- Cluster menus. Show or hide menus such as Design, AdBlue Level and Engine Oil Level.
- Gear indicator layout. Choose how the selected gear is shown, crosswise or horizontal.
- Warning indicators. Adjust selected warning indicator settings.
We add new options as we test more clusters, so the range for each cluster keeps growing.
Changing a warning indicator setting does not fix the fault behind it, so always diagnose the vehicle first, for example with the free Mercedes-Benz general diagnostics in DiagNodes.
Which Models Are Supported?
The configurator currently supports instrument clusters in these Mercedes-Benz models:
- C-Class (W205)
- E-Class (W213)
- S-Class (W222)
- V-Class and Vito (W447)
- Sprinter (W907)
We extend support to new cluster variants on a regular basis.
Why Use the Dashboard Configurator?
For independent workshops, Mercedes-Benz specialists and enthusiasts, the configurator adds cluster coding without buying new software or paying a subscription.
- See it before you code. The live preview shows the result on the cluster before you spend tokens on the change.
- Pay per function. DiagNodes uses tokens, so you pay for the functions you perform and nothing else.
- Always current. New functions and fixes are delivered through the platform, so you always work with the latest version.
- One platform for several brands. The same account covers supported BMW, VAG and Mercedes-Benz functions.
- Traceable work. Automatic logs and data export help you document what was done on each vehicle.
- Part of a growing Mercedes-Benz toolset. The configurator sits alongside existing DiagNodes functions such as general diagnostics, SCN-level coding, instrument cluster services and NTG map updates.
What Do You Need to Use It?
DiagNodes runs in your web browser, but coding still requires a local connection to the vehicle. You need:
- A DiagNodes account with enough tokens for the selected function
- The DiagNodes Companion App on Windows, macOS or Android, linked to your account
- A vehicle interface supported by DiagNodes
- A stable internet connection
- Stable vehicle voltage during coding (a battery support unit is recommended)
- Access to the vehicle and, if it is not your own, the permission of its owner
No dedicated ABRITES hardware is required. If you need an interface, you can use ABRITES AVDI with the PassThru driver or an Ethernet cable with an OBD adapter, both available from ABRITES.

How Much Does It Cost?
Configurator functions are paid per use with DiagNodes tokens. Token packages start at 25 tokens, and larger packages lower the cost per token. New users can get 10 free tokens with the code STARTER10.
Get Started with DiagNodes
If you already use DiagNodes, you will find the Dashboard Configurator under Mercedes, in Special Functions. New to DiagNodes? Create your account, install the Companion App and connect your supported interface to see which functions are available for the vehicles you work on.
