The JLR problem
It is time to get serious. We need to address the Jaguar and Land Rover situation.
2025 was not the best year for JLR, they had to survive the year’s worst cyber attack which left them even worse than what the previous year left them with.
The company was already struggling with a poorly executed marketing strategy for Jaguar which left us, the enthusiasts wondering – are they even going to make it into this year.
In all seriousness- we are on different sides of the barricades so to speak and every moment of weakness for our opponents should bring us joy. But this is not honorable, this is not a victory worth bragging about. You must take the time to reflect, let them heal and face them when they regain their strength. Only then can you claim to be an honorable warrior in the proverbial battle between the OEM and the Aftermarket.
We want to be honorable and most of all we are automotive enthusiasts. This is why we are all in the field of automotive. We all must struggle to better ourselves, not weaken our enemies. My daughter is a small automotive enthusiast. She loves Land Rovers (I know, where did I go wrong in her upbringing
)
Jokes aside, I love most cars, this is what makes us true automotive enthusiasts at heart.

“Since there is no position to select from factory how do we know where our key will land before starting key programming”
For the longest time they have been bombarded by different governing bodies to make their cars harder to steal, they put system after system in place to avoid it.
I am sure their “Theft protection department” has had at least a few changes of leadership throughout the past 5-6 years. For reasons unknown they have not been fairing that well. They had to install UWB (Ultra Wide Band) modules in their cars to avoid theft from key replication.
They even made their KVM (Keyless Vehicle Modules) with just two keys and no ability to add more from factory. This, by the way is the reason why we tell you during the procedure if we can or cannot save the original key. This is also why we need to use Abrites keys for the programming of JLRs.
“Since there is no position to select from factory how do we know where our key will land before starting key programming”.
What we can say with confidence is that we can guarantee that we support key learning for JLR cars up to 2020 in the base package of AVDI, this is what most people work on every day. We support that including the DPLA, FK72, HPLA models of KVMs. These are the most common and popular types.
The JL006

K8D2 2020+ JPLA 2020+ J9C3 2020+
These are most serious KVM contenders these days, we have you covered via the JL006 license. It does require not only the Abrites TA keys for JLR but also the CB012.
A protag programmer is needed for all JLR key programming too. But what if the car has Ultra Wide Band modules installed?
That is also something we can help with. Just get a UWB Emulator аnd watch this video we made:
What is the future of the Abrites Diagnostics for JLR?

I hate predictions. They never come true if you are specific and if you are vague then everything you say is up for interpretation and you are no better than a fortune teller at a flee market of a Saturday morning.
BUT! I can tell you the following facts and let you draw your own conclusions:
- Our JLR team has reorganized, similar to the manufacturer.
- They too are regaining their strength, experimenting and finding cool possibilities for development.
- Some of these are ready to come out. Here is an example with the Unlocked RFA/ KVM module replacement, which will be added to the base AVDI without the need for licenses. We need your trust in our development to regain.
- You are currently at the outskirts of the solar system on a dwarf planet, right after Neptune, but it works for you:

- We want to get back to Earth and continue the battle together, stronger, against a stronger opponent.
Give us the chance to show you how good the next generation Abrites Diagnostics for JLR will be.
I am happy that JLR are rebuilding. I saw them running well in Dakar this year, their marketing team is investing heavily in internet personalities to promote the new Defender Rally. This is more than great and I am rooting for them for them.
We wish them success in 2026 and "May thy knife chip and shatter"
Until next week,
Alek
