The Abrites Diagnostics for VAG is a well established tool and it is one of the ground stones for the Abrites Company. Throughout the past 15 years we have developed the most complete aftermarket tool for all the vehicles from the VAG Group. Using the Abrites Diagnostics for VAG customers can support vehicles ranging from the youngtimer Golf III all the way to the Lamborghini Urus and Bentley Continental from last week.

 

General diagnostics

We support all diagnostic features that the OEM tools support such as reading and clearing of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), when reading the codes you will see all the available information in them at a dealer level. At this point you can generate a scan report for the customer of before and after you started work with the car so that the customer can know with 100% certainty that their car was properly serviced after it leaves your workshop. We can allow easy access to live data which can be monitored in a grid view where multiple parameters from each module can be viewed and analyzed simultaneously. This is very handy for troubleshooting and problem finding which is most of what a diagnostician does. For example we can monitor all the functionality of 3, 4, 5,6, 8, 10, 12 and 16 cylinder cars at the same time together with A/F ratios, sensors, temperature and so on at the same time. Actuator testing is something extremely useful which we have developed for basically every car in the VAG lineup. You can easily discover faulty sensors by turning them on and off on demand with the car working and also without. This saves days in troubleshooting a hidden problem with a simple click. Using the Abrites Diagnostics for VAG you can easily update original .frf and .sgo flash files which allows you to update the cars as per all the factory newsletter recommendations and service requirements where there is a service required update or if the car's operation can be optimized with a newer version of the .frf and .sgo files. Also if you have a custom file of these types you can write it to the vehicle in case you are a tuning specialist. The software is fully compliant with all of the K-line, KWP, CAN and UDS protocols within the VAG vehicles and also the diagnostics would allow advanced users to perform custom requests to each of the modules in the vehicles. DPF off is another function available for all diesel vehicles using EDC16 (by OBD) and EDC17 (by Internal memory dump). Coding functions are available for a vast variety of modules and options can be coded anywhere in the vehicles - clusters, ABS module, Transmission Control Modules and ELVs, etc. All this combined makes the Abrites diagnostics for VAG a complete solution with possibly the largest coverage of vehicles and functionality.

Instrument Cluster/Engine Control Module Recalibration

Reading and updating internal control module configuration memory by diagnostic. Extracting and recalibration security access code, PIN, component security bytes, current unit mileage value by K-line, CAN bus and UDS. Emergency start for engine control units EDC15, ME7.x.x.

ECU Advanced Diagnostic Functionality

Extracting and displaying PIN code, control module configuration memory content, component security data from engine control units EDC16, MED9.x, Simos PPD 1.1/1.5, Magneti Marelli 4HV,7GV. Emergency start for engine control units EDC16. The whole EEPROM could be read for EDC15/ME7/EDC16. For MED9, EDC17 and Simos engine control units only the PIN/CS/MAC is displayed.

Airbag Control Module - Advanced diagnostic functionality

Advanced Diagnostic Functionality - Ability to manage stored crash data and configuration memory of electronic control unit. Read/Update Config Data of airbag control units Siemens (CAN bus - ISO15765). Audi A6/Q7/Allroad, VW Golf5..., Skoda Octavia II ..., Seat Altea ... EDC17/MED17 Direct PIN/CS

The function is dedicated explicitly to read the PIN and CS of the EDC17/MED17 engine control units . With this function is possible to read even engine control units 2012+ which are with
updated software and is not possible to read normally by OBDII.With this special function the EDC17/MED17 is not read through OBDII – you should have direct connection to the engine
control unit. It is possible to make this on the table, you need to connect only 12V, GND, Ignition, CAN-H and CAN-L. It is possible to read the ECU also in the car, but you need to find
somewhere the CAN-H (orange-black) and CAN-L (orange-brown) wires. So connect them to the AVDI and you will be able to read the engine control units.

NOTE: This function requires internet access

Transmission A4/S4/RS4/A5/S5/RS5/Q5 2007+, A6/S6/RS6/A7/S7/A8/S8 2010+, VW Touareg 2010+ adaptation

This function is dedicated to adapt the transmission control unit (TCU) to the immobilizer (BCM2) . For that purpose is necessary first to read the TCU. The TCU is not possible to be read by OBDII,
but is possible to read it when you connect the TCU on the table, or when you connect the AVDI to the internal CAN-Bus of the car.
To read from the internal CAN-Bus, find the orange/black and orange/brown CAN wires and make the following connection of the AVDI:
- orange/black <-> CAN-H (PIN6 of the OBDII)
- orange/brown <-> CAN-L (PIN14 of the OBDII)
- Ground <-> GND (PIN4 of the OBDII)
- 12V <-> 12V (PIN16 of the OBDII)

Odometer recalibration for MQB-based vehicles

The function is dedicated to odometer recalibration for VAG vehicles based on the MQB platform manufactured after 2012. In the table below, you will be able to find the currently supported models

Key Programming for MQB-based vehicles

The Abrites Diagnostics for VAG allows the users to program keys to VAG vehicles based on the MQB platform using the ZN002 PROTAG Programmer. This means that customers can program both NEW KEYS as well as keys previously programmed to the vehicle. A list of the supported models can be found below:
